Fitting-out Supper
Venue: The Buccaneer (Filey)
Time: 8.00pm food served
Cost: £6
We start the season at the Buccaneer again, after last year’s success we have decided to return. A great chance to catch up with everyone before the first race of the year. Excellent value and atmosphere. Menu: Hot buffet dinner: Steak Pie, Vegetable Lasagne, Chicken Curry and a selection of deserts all for £6. Don’t miss out.

Kayaking followed by a visit to the local watering holes of Filey
Venue: The Club
Time: Kayaking start 3.00pm (around High tide)
Cost: Free
If you have a Kayak, bring it along. If you’ve never kayaked and don’t have one please come along and have ago. I’m sure there will be several people who can let members have a try. Afterwards it’s in to Filey for a few quiet beers starting at the Cobble Landing bar. If you haven’t been around the pubs of Filey, now’s your chance!

The last day of the first training course! Should be a good night, and a great chance to welcome, the new members from the course. A selection of dishes to try (including vegetarian option), Naan, Poppadoms and dips. Tickets available from James Whitehead. BYOB (bring your own booze)

Time: Sailing starts at 11am, but if helping please arrive at 9-9.30am
Cost: No charge to members, but for those coming to try sailing there will be a small charge. This is our chance to shout to everyone about how great the club is. Please come down and help. See posters around the club for more info.

Absolutely mint day!!! Join our experienced skippers Pete Stokoe and Phil Robinson as they take us out into the bay mackerel fishing. Then return to shore for BBQ heaven. Limited numbers - I would suggest booking now or miss out!. Catching fish is not guaranteed, but I’m told a true fisherperson doesn’t mind not catching fish! Line and tackle supplied.

Pork, chicken, sausage and salads, including dessert with a twist, I’ll say no more!!!

Cost: £6
It’s Italian night, pasta and pizza flying out of the kitchen (I recommend it!!!!!!!). Lloads of quality sailing videos on the big screen, some featuring FSC members. There may even be a present from continental Colin OR NOT!

Cost £2.50 for pie and peas
The first kite day in the Club’s history (pray for wind). If there’s no wind, there’s pie and peas which I’m sure will generate some wind! Points awarded for height off ground of flyer, skill and timing. Ah! Yes, also the longest skid mark (with kite).

Venue: The Corner Restaurant and Bar
Time: TBC
Cost £15pp
This is a new venue in Filey and it looks great. Very modern and stylish, and I’m told great food. A 3 course dinner will be served (menus to follow). The corner is run by Rachel and Paul Carline and all food and produce is locally sourced. This all sounds good to me, and better still they are licensed until 2.00am.
