OnBoard Club
2013 OnBoard Club
Hi Everyone,
Please find the information flyer for this years OnBoard Club. You will notice on reading we have limited sesions this year and indeed we need for more instructors, volunteers and safety to get further sessions going - if you can help please let me know.

Any members interested in becoming instructors or re-validating please do let Peter Crooks know. I will be looking into grants to help run an instructor course at Filey if we can gain 6 candidates.
As it is we can take 2 groups 6 youngsters this year (a beginner class and an improver class), those that can sail (ie have passed their level 3 and are competent) we want to move into Junior Club racing from July and to that end the session 4th July will have a special 'Race Training' session given by Phil to get people ready for the Novice Series.
In terms of Junior Racing we are looking for the yourngsters and volunteers to come together to get the fun into that - perhaps Junior Racing needs things like 'Catch the Stig', courses doing strange things on different legs etc, looking for energy and ideas to get a real buz and scene with junior members. My great hope is we might build a team that can travel the odd time a year to take on other clubs. We are also looking for some Junior Racers to get involved in training with the OnBoard sessions.

Because places are limited we are asking people to book into the classes - we will aim to make these as much fun as possible - but at the same time the aim is to progress through the junior training syllabus and to this end a free logbook and certificates will be issued. For this reason the OnBoard club is only open to Junior members of FSC.
To register your child - please drop myself a line as this year OB Rep - tony.busfield@btinternet.com or simply come to the first session (but do remember it is on a first come first served basis).

On the first session your child attends please as the flyer says come 30 mins early to fill in paperwork remembering to make a note of your doctors contacts details.
PLEASE NOTE THE FIRST SESSION IS 18TH MAY AND IS OPEN TO ADULT FAMILY MEMBERS FOR A SHORT TASTER SESSION ALSO, IT IS HOPED THOSE THAT GET THE BUG WILL THEN JOIN ON THE MAY ADULT TRAINING COURSE WHICH HAS PLENTY OF AVILABILITY CURRENTLY.
With such a fantastic OnBoard section last year, with such a brilliant job done by Helen I really hope we can keep some of that energy into this year.
Thanks and happy sailing...
Tony

2012 OnBoard Regatta

2012 OB Regatta great effort from the FSC team.
FSC was represented by Ed Kerridge, Simon Stockdale, Michael Stockdale, James Robertson, Nathan Ainsley, Liam Frampton, Lewis Frampton at the OnBoard Humberside Regatta at the back end of last season. A terrific show from the team should have resulted in victory due to fantastic on-water efforts but our combined knowledge of Olmpic sailors let us down and we finnished mid-table.
Well done to the team.
